Tarot is a TOOL utilized to see into the past, present, and future. It is used by readers to gain insight into situations. It is not the actual cards that speak, but the reader's higher self is picking up on the symbols on the card and selecting ways to communicate what needs to be said in that moment. The cards are the tool, and the higher self is the driving force. The reader possesses the power. This is why the fear of any divination tool is an irrational fear because the source is the person's higher self.
Every breathing individual has a higher self, but many do not realize it or maybe just hasn't tapped into their own innate ability. Your gut feeling that something good or bad is going to happen can be attributed to your higher self. Your higher self even speaks to you in your dreams. You ever had a dream and then it happened the next day or maybe even weeks/months later? I had a two dreams that my new computer was stolen and in both dreams I was very angry and trying ineffective ways to get it back. A few days after the dream my computer was not stolen, but my brand new computer was indeed malfunctioning to the point where I could not use it. I contacted both the store and manufacturer, but both refused to either refund or replace the computer because it was a week past the return date. As you can imagine I was livid, and I became irate. Long story short, after hours of being angry, cursing out both companies, and literally feeling like they STOLE my money, I calmed down tremendously and decided to give it another try with patience and tact. With my new approach the store understood my plight and refunded my money without hesitance. My dream warned me what was to come and how my response would determine the outcome. In the long run, I actually found out later I didn't need a new computer, but that I was definitely going to need the money on a later date (win-win for me). This may seem like a trivial coincidence to some, however, it is no coincidence to me because I have many dreams that have acted out in real life in regards to more “serious” aspects of life such has infidelity, death, triumph, happiness, etc. Though my dreams are not as precise as what happens in real life, the symbolism and emotions are in fact perfect expressions of the occurrences that manifest in real life. Just as dreams speak in symbols as do tarot cards and they can express the occurrences that are manifesting in your life. The subconscious mind speaks in symbols and that is what the higher self picks up on when reading tarot cards. Interpreting the symbols is where the message lies. We are surrounded by symbols all day that speak to our subconscious without us realizing it. These symbols make us feel certain emotions or even get us to buy things because we attach certain emotions with those symbols. For instance, think of your favorite phone brand's symbol, then think about how it makes you and others feel. That feeling you get convinces you to keep buying that brand, even if they come out with a phone every 6 to 8 months. We even use symbols to express things we don't want to express in words to the people we text. Sometimes it seems better to put heart-eyes and drooling emojis when your boyfriend /girlfriend sends you a picture, because these symbols can express how you feel with ease. Symbols can be very descriptive, memorable, and can explain so many aspects of life, that's why tarot cards can be an excellent tool in gaining insight into our multilayered existence.
