Spiritual Baths

Many people cleanse or bless their home to rid it of unclean spirits/negative energy by means of sage and repeating positive affirmations, mantras, or spells. It is just as important to rid your body of energy that you have picked up from other people, different environments, or the ones you have created yourself.

Spiritual baths are a wonderful way to rid yourself of stagnate and negative energy. I believe they should be done at the LEAST once a month, but whenever you feel it is necessary will work as well. Spiritual baths can be viewed as a process of detoxification. People who have taken detox baths may realize that many ingredients can be used for spiritual baths. The only difference is your intention or purpose.

Detox Baths
Detox baths remove toxins from the body that you have acquired from eating, psychological stress, and your environment. They can also be used for ailments such as muscle pain, arthritis, the common cold, yeast infections, and constipation. Epsom salt itself is a powerful agent that can be used as a remedy due to it being made of magnesium. My undergrad Health Science professor drilled the many benefits of magnesium into me and my classmates' psyche, which I am forever grateful for. Every class he would mention several ailments and the cure always included magnesium. For example, constipation is trapped waste/energy in your body. The use of magnesium in the form of Epsom Salt can help relieve you of the problem. However, prolong relief will require a change in diet and lifestyle.

Spiritual baths provide the same detoxing properties, but with a focus on energy release for spiritual reasons. This energy is weighing you down and can be preventing you from manifesting certain things in your life. However, prolong relief will require a change in your thoughts and lifestyle.

Spiritual Bath Recipe

Basic Recipe
Epsom Salt (Plain, no fragrance)- 1 Cup
Baking Soda-1/4 Cup
Sea Salt- 1/4 Cup

-Mix ingredients in a bowl with your hands.

The recipe above is more for clearing. For subsequent baths you can add essential oils depending on your need or intention. You can search the internet or pick up books on spiritual baths and essential oil properties so that you can create your own recipe. Check out some essential oils below.

-Lavender Oil: Relaxing, helps with anxiety, promotes intuition, brings peace, helps in purification, etc. I use this in my hair with a carrier oil so just imagine the benefits I receive.

-Jasmine Oil: Assist in compassion, anti-depressant, can induce sleep, bring prophetic dreams, etc.

-Frankincense Oil-: Helps with anxiety, stimulate the solar plexus chakra, emotional balancing, aids in introspection, drives out malevolent energy, etc.

How to Take a Spiritual Bath?

-Pick a day that you will be able to spend a good amount of time to relax in the bath. (30mins to 1hr)
-Fill tub with warm water, pour in your mixture, and mix with your hand.
-You can light white candles, if you would like.
-Relax in your bath with no distractions. Lock the door and turn your ringer off.
-Use your imagination to rid yourself of the negative or stagnate energy.
  • Imagine that all the negative or stagnate energy that you have acquired is coming from your body.
  • You could imagine that waves, vibrations, particles are flowing from your body into the water.
  • After imagining the negative or stagnate energy leaving your body, imagine your body weighing less since the energy is gone, imagine a white aura appearing around your body that is separating you from the negative energy, or wherever your imagination takes you.
  • During this process you can repeat mantras or positive affirmations. It is best not to use the word “not” or any negations because the subconscious mind does not respond well to negatives. For example, “ I am healed. " is better than saying “I am NOT sick.” See examples below:
    • I am healed. Healed I am.
    • I attract positive energy. Positive energy attracts me.
    • I love myself.
    • I am free of negative energy.
-You can meditate in the bath, as well.
-After you have completed your bath you can watch/imagine all of the negative or stagnate energy going down the drain.
-Lastly! Clean your tub!!! Also, you want to make sure you drink LOTS of water before and after the bath.
